Details

The basilisk (also known as a cockatrice) is a strange and fearsome creature from Greek and European mythology. Half rooster and half snake, it can turn its prey to stone with a single glance. My illustration of this beast is done in a Renaissance style on parchment, with medieval calligraphy. Either alone or in a set with my other matching illustrations, it is perfect wall decor for the scholar or fantasy art fan.

This art print is available in two sizes: medium (8 x 10 inch print) or large (11 x 14 inch print). You may choose the print alone, or have it matted in black for no extra charge. The medium (8 x 10 inch) print with mat measures 11 x 14 inches on the outside, and the large (11 x 14 inch) print with mat measures 16 x 20 inches on the outside. *** NOTE: Matting for the large print is available to buyers within the United States only, because of size restrictions on international first-class mail. Please do not choose that option if you are outside of the United States. ***

Your matted art print is shipped with a protective plastic sleeve in a sturdy cardboard mailer to prevent any damage during shipping.   To see all of Nancy’s Renaissance and medieval artwork, please visit the shop section: https://arteofthebooke.com/collections/calligraphy-artwork As a reminder all artwork and photographs are © Nancy Hulan, and unauthorized duplication, whether digital or physical, is prohibited.
