Our Celtic leather journal is handmade in the USA from thick calfskin leather. Hand stamped with Nancy's original artwork on the front cover, inside cover, and back cover, including a stag (Cernunnos, the antlered god), oak leaves, acorns, and Celtic knots.
The unique trifold design protects the pages for a lifetime. Pages are 70-lb cream paper in your choice of blank, lined, or graph paper. Your personalized inscription is hand-stamped or handwritten in calligraphy on the inside cover of the trifold.
This large journal measures 8.5 inches tall, 6 inches wide, 1.25 inches thick and contains 288 pages of lovely cream paper. Pages are hand-sewn with blue linen thread, and an antique brass button-style peg hold the trifold cover closed.
The rugged full-grain leather is 6 oz (2.5 mm) thick, hand-stamped with my original artwork using brass stamps, and then hand-distressed with dye to accentuate the design. Mink oil is rubbed into the leather and buffed for a slight sheen, which beautifies the leather and makes it water-resistant. This process makes your journal look centuries old, and yet preserves it for years to come. Slight variations in color add character and natural beauty to your leather journal.
